When is trout season in Vermont?

Catch & release fly fishing for trout is open year round in Vermont. However, April through October is the traditional fly fishing season. Winter months of January through March our focus switches to ice fishing for Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

What species of trout live in Vermont?

Vermont has three species of wild and stocked trout: Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout. All Vermont fishing trips we offer are catch & release.

What are the best flies to use in Vermont?

When is the best time to fly fish in Vermont?

All our Vermont fishing guides are half day trips. Most of the season trips run 9 am - 1 pm. Except in July and August, we run 7-11 am to avoid the heat. If you have your own gear you are always welcome to continue fishing after our trip.

How much does a guided trip cost and what are the terms?

All trips are half day 4 hours. 1 or 2 guests total $350, 3 guests total $525. A 50% deposit is required to secure reservations over the phone. M/C or Visa  accepted. Refunds will be granted if notice is given 30 days prior to arrival. With advance notice a date may be moved within the current fishing season. No shows are billed in full with no exception! Gift certificates are available with an open date so the recipient can choose the date. Trips are rain or shine unless the guide feels the conditions are unsafe. 

What is included in our Vermont guided fishing trip?

Vermont fly fishing guides can provide everything you need to go fly fishing: an Orvis fly rod / reel and stocking foot waders with felt bottom wading shoes, all flies, terminal tackle, strike indicators, leaders and tippets.
